                                                           Kacey Herbst

                                                             1943 - 2020

Kacey Herbst made her transition peacefully from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2020, in her home in Woodland, California, as a result of a sudden heart attack.

She was born in Napa, California, on November 3, 1943, and named Sharon by her parents, Charles and June (Duncan) Stone.  Sharon grew up in Napa, attending Ridgeview Jr. High and graduating from Napa Union High School in 1961.

At the height of her professional career Kacey was CEO for Community Health Charities of California, and led the organization in raising $70 million for 50 health charities, retiring in 2008.

Kacey was preceded in death by her younger sister, Pamela (age 3), in 1950, her mother in 1971, and her father in 1980.  She was also predeceased by her son, David Sanford.

Kacey is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Karl Herbst; her son, Brian Sanford; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Jerry Beckwith; and her grandsons, Cory Glass and Andrew Sanford.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at the Unity Center of Davis, 646 A Street in Davis.  All are welcome.

Kacey was a kind and generous person, and will be remembered by her bright smile and infectious laugh.  She is an irreplaceable Light in the lives of those who love her, and she will be dearly missed more than words can express.
