Jerry D. Nissen

Jerry D. Nissen was born on November 13, 1942 to Chester L. and Juanita Y. Nissen in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1943 the family relocated to Vallejo, California, and then, in the early 1950’s moved to Napa.
Jerry attended Napa schools graduating in 1961 from Napa High. He served in the USMC Reserves from 1963-1970. Jerry worked in the beverage industry his entire professional life, first for Pepsi Cola then for Servideo Miller Beer Distributor. He spent the last 15 years prior to retirement at Tri-Eagle Beverage Budweiser Distributor as a sales supervisor. He was a former member and past president of the North Napa Rotary, a Paul Harris Fellow and current member of Napa Elks Lodge #832.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Vosgien Nissen; two daughters, Andrea Michelle Nissen (James Byrum) and Haley Ann Nissen (Sean Darnelle); one granddaughter, Audrey Nissen Williams and a grandchild expected in June. Surviving sisters are Beverly Kastan and Anavon Anderson and brother-in-law Lyle Merrell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who were a very important part of his life. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Wanda Nissen Merrell and a brother-in-law, Clyde H. Anderson.
In true Jerry fashion, at his request, no services will be held. The family has requested and would very much appreciate letters or notes with your memories of Jerry to be shared online at Tulocay.
